As you probably know incoming links to your website from other websites really count for a higher PageRank. When you are a member of WebmastersLookup you have a portfolio with links to your websites in your profile. This profile however is only made for the looking-up services on WebmastersLookup and isn't indexed by Google. Some of our members made a link back to their WebmastersLookup profile and mentioned that link in their profile. We have a cronjob running every night looking for the links on the provided pages. When the link is found the job gives the profile an extra boost and puts it in the top of the search result. This way linking members get more attention than non-linking members.
Warning to linking members: A few of you have provided a link page, but the link to your profile is not found by the cronjob. This way you will not get a higher position!! You can check your status by updating your profile. When you update your profile the cronjob will check the link within 24 hour.
The next logical step.
Since last saturday the members that has linked to us have the metatag
in their profile. This means they are spiderable by all the search engines. We also regularly submit a Google sitemap with all the profiles in it to inform Google that the profiles are ready to be indexed. This way you will get extra links to the websites in your portfolio. Together with the skills, the experience and the other content you provided thru your profile you have a lot of keywords pointing to your profile as well.

As we give links away we take the risk of PageRank leakage from WebmastersLookup.com to you. Your profile page is a page of WebmastersLookup that has more than one link to your websites. On the other hand we have only one link from you to us. There are links on the Profile page however that point to our homepage. These links are only internal links but they do count for the PageRank too. This way we plan to get a rank 5 ranking for WebmastersLookup. You will benefit from a higher ranking of WebmastersLookup too because your profile will be found easier than before.
What do you have to do to benefit?
First of all you have to be a member of WebmastersLookup.com. If you're not yet a member visit our website, fill your profile and join us, it is free.
Secondly make a link to us on your site. Logon at WebmastersLookup and follow the instruction by clicking the 'Profile Link' menu option.
Thirdly finish your profile by filling the page where our cronjob can find our link on your site.
We will submit your profile to the search engines but you can do that too from time to time.
